American heavy rock band Carbellion release their new album “This Is Our Style” on 13 November through Eclipse Records. The first single and video are already out.

The band comes from southeastern Wisconsin and works the part of heavy music that sits between stoner rock and sludge — thick riffs, dirty tone, songs built to be played loud in a small room rather than admired in headphones. Eclipse Records places them alongside Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity and Monster Magnet. That is the label’s framing, not a verdict, but it tells you what shelf the record is aimed at.

Eleven songs. The band produced the album together with Chris Djuricic, whose earlier work includes Nonpoint, Soil and Jungle Rot. Mastering went to Andy VanDette, who has handled records for the Beastie Boys, Porcupine Tree and Rush. Distribution runs through The Orchard.

The first single and video, “I Don’t Want to Be Your Dog”, is already out. The label also points to a video for the title track.

Why a Latvian rock site runs this

Most readers here have never heard of Carbellion, and that is the point. The English section of lrma.lv exists so the traffic runs in both directions: bands and labels abroad learn that there is a rock scene in Latvia with a publication behind it, and Latvian readers get a wider map than the one the big festivals draw.

Carbellion come from small-town Wisconsin, not from a music capital. Neither does anyone here. Scenes like that recognise each other.
