Zagreb black metal band TRIVAN have released “Crowned with Dread and Power”, the single they promised when they first wrote to LRMA. It is out now on Bandcamp, and the band says an album, Eternal Shore, is planned for late February 2027.
TRIVAN are independent and unsigned, and they do their own press. Guitarist Vanja Šantak wrote to LRMA in September to say the master was done and the artwork nearly finished. A week later the song was out.
The band describes the new track as “a statement of authority, discipline and uncompromising vision”. It follows “Abyss of Crawling Shadows”, which TRIVAN sent out earlier as their introduction, and a run of singles before it: “Dark Malicious Desire”, “Blackened Heart’s Pledge” and “Dance of Death”.
Musically, TRIVAN pair black metal with the weight of death metal. The artwork for the single is classic grim fare: a crowned skeleton on a throne, chained demons, a serpent and a full moon.
More than a band name
TRIVAN are built around a concept they call Trivanism. The EPK is careful to say it is “an artistic and philosophical framework, not a religion or cult”. The themes are introspection, personal truth, questioning authority and refusing blind obedience.
TRIVAN is not just a band. TRIVAN is a state of consciousness.

In their version, darkness is not the goal. It is the place where illusions fall away and a person has to face themselves.

About the band
TRIVAN was founded in Croatia in 2018 by Vanja Šantak and Ivan Bertović. The pandemic stopped the first line-up and, by the band’s own account, changed its direction. Vocalist Tomislav Žiljak and drummer Robert Vlašić, both formerly of the black metal band Darkendome, joined later; rhythm guitarist Marin Buljan came in 2025.
