Galician black metal band Dantalion release their self-titled tenth album on 1 November 2026 through Base Record Production. The record brings back vocalist Diego, who sang with the band between 2013 and 2019, and it comes out on LP, CD and cassette at once — a wide physical release for a band with no major label behind it.

Two decades, nine albums, and a name on the tenth

Dantalion have been going for two decades and have nine albums behind them, from When the Ravens Fly Over Me in 2006 to Fatum in 2023. The tenth carries the band’s own name, which is usually the sign of a record a band wants treated as a statement rather than another entry in the list.

The core is a duo. Netzja plays guitar and bass, Naemoth plays drums, and for this album they asked Diego to come back behind the microphone. He was in the band for six years and left in 2019; the label frames the return as deliberate rather than a session favour.

One studio, one engineer

Everything was recorded, mixed and mastered in one place — B2V Estudios, by Brais Barreiro. That matters more than it sounds: a two-man band that writes, records and finishes a record in a single room tends to come out sounding like one piece rather than a set of sessions stitched together.

The cover is by Vergvoktre, a Russian artist whose ink work shows up across European black metal. The label says the album is about the decline of our species, emotional emptiness, and evil as something built into human nature rather than arriving from outside.

Base Record Production is putting it out in every physical format at once: vinyl, jewel case CD, digipack, digisleeve and cassette. For a band working at this level that is an unusually broad run, and it is the part of the announcement that says most about how the label rates the record.
